Brutal Legend

Brutal Legend is a new game on Xbox that looks really good! It has an high score on gamerankings.com here.
I would recommend to get hold of a copy on amazon. Just click on the image to get to amazon.

From the mind of Tim Schafer (Psychonauts, Grim Fandango) comes Brutal Legend, the ultimate heavy metal action game starring Jack Black (School of Rock, Tenacious D). You are heavy metal roadie Eddie Riggs, hurled back in time to the mythical Age of Metal when the world was formed and ruled by the power of Rock! Armed with a broadaxe, a guitar, and a big block V8 you set off on an epic quest to assemble an army of headbangers, hotrods, barbarians, demonic dominatrix and the undead. With the wings of a demon and the power of a Rock God, you must lead humanity in an epic war against its barbaric overlords, and carve your name forever into the Brutal Legend. In Brutal Legend, you'll roam through a massive open-world born from the hell fires of heavy metal. In this world you can rev up any vehicle, rock its weapons, and crush the enemies of metal. You'll also learn to devastate with your guitar, playing face-melting solos that actually melt the faces of your enemies, command savage armies, bang skulls in hand-to-hand combat, and rise like a bat out of hell to command blood-drenched action from above. As if that wasn't enough, you can slay your friends and foes online, then play guitar licks on their graves! Of course, Brutal Legend is only complete with the most ultimate heavy metal soundtrack ever assembled in a game.

Halo 3

The highly anticipated Xbox 360 exclusive makes its way to the public. For those three people who are unaware of Halo 3, here is the breakdown. Halo 3 is a first person shooter that transpires after the events of the Xbox smash hit Halo 2. Master Chief is reprising his role as the protagonist all the way through the entire game, and he is accompanied by the Arbiter. Those who played Halo 2 will remember that the Arbiter is now an ally of Master Chief. The storyline in Halo 3 starts with Master Chief and his men fighting against the Covenant. The plot is definitely the best in the series, and it answers all of the unanswered questions from Halo 2. In terms of gameplay, Halo 3 is eerily similar to the previous iterations of Halo and Halo 2. Avid Halo fans should have no problem picking up the controls of Master Chief or the Arbiter. Gamers will not be surprised with the assortment of weapons. These entail the handgun, assault rifle, sniper rifle, shotgun, energy sword, grenades, bubble shield, and so much more. I seldom utilized the bubble shield, but it is still a nice touch. A grenade in an opponents mouth is my preference. The most grandiose part of the multiplayer is the cooperative gameplay. Gamers can enjoy the whole Halo 3 experience with three other players. That means a total of four people can play the game from start to finish. One player will be in control of Master Chief. Another will be in control of the Arbiter. The final two players will be in control of two soldiers that fight alongside Master Chief and the Arbiter. The visuals in Halo 3 are not impressive. The game looks adequate; however, nothing anyone sees will make their jaw hit the floor. Some of the environments appear to be next generation. On the other hand, there are a few character models that look downright dreadful. Maybe I have been spoiled with the graphics from video games like Heavenly Sword, BioShock, GRAW, Killzone 2, FEAR, and Gears of War. But I was disappointed with the graphics in Halo 3. For the most part, the graphics look exactly like the multiplayer beta. I might have high expectations, nevertheless I would have appreciated it if the visuals were better than the final product (especially for a next generation console like the Xbox 360). Another blunder with Halo 3 is the artificial intelligence. All of Master Chief's allies act like asinine children. Fortunately, the frame rate runs smoothly throughout the duration of Halo 3. The audio in the game is amazing. All of the dialogue is rich and full of life; furthermore, the voice acting never seems to be insipid. The sound of gunfire and recoil gives a fairly immersive atmosphere. There are even a few comedic aspects with your teammates. The musical score is one of the best I have heard in a video game. A live orchestral musical score has a flawless amount of crescendos and decrescendos. It significantly enhances the gameplay experience. The artificial intelligence adjusts accordingly to your every move, so do not expect to see all fights to be identical. The wide selection of vehicles is limitless. Some of them are reconnaissance vehicles, tanks, aircrafts, transport automobiles, and most notorious of all the Warthog. There are also some original vehicles to the Halo universe. Most notably, the Mongoose ATV (who the hell comes up with these absurd names?) is a vehicle that has a motorcycle-like feel to it. The multiplayer features up to sixteen players and eleven different maps. It is not as engrossing as the 32 player multiplayer that Warhawk supports, but sixteen that is not bad. There is also a level and video editor. The video editor is like making your own Halo 3 movie. Even though Halo 3 is only a succinct ten hours, the game is still worth the gameplay. The final verdict on Halo 3 is that fans of the Halo series will enjoy Halo 3 for months to come. Overall, gamers should believe in Halo 3 and finish the fight.

Gears of War

In the futuristic first person Xbox 360 game, Gears of War 2, Guy Cocker will take on a horde of Locusts. The best things about the new game are that the game has been designed with a brand new look, taking the entire gaming experience to a different level.

There are newer and better weapons to deal with along with grenades of more power. Powerful melee attacks are in the works, and the visual effects are like none you've seen before.

U can relish with your friends, the Gears Of War 2, which has now been released with an attractive multiplayer modes. the support drop from the co-ops and independent difficulty.

However, among the old things that this game has retained are the exciting Gears actions that are a trademark of the Gears of War series and especially loved by all alike.

The original Gears of War is an actual action genre of classic games which is filled with excellent graphics. It’s cinematic presentation along with a challenging cover system create a breathtaking effect.

This section of the premiere series debuts several different new arms as well as brand new villains to confront.

When you encounter the new enemies who are stronger than before, you understand the significance of the more powerful weapons. Unlike its past versions, innovative environments have been used.

The fight experience remains the same. Seen from the viewpoint of the former game, the game play is a bit more exciting and mind-bending.

Gears of War 2 feature a battle mode that is about ten hours in length and very engaging. This game can be addictive; once you start a game you won't be able to put it down until the outcome is realized.

The design has been well planned which introduces brilliant epic confrontations along with the stop-and-play gunplay sequences. In addition, there are a lot of cleverly set pieces for you to enjoy.

The best is yet to come. The games in the Gears of War 2 offer a multiplayer layer which offers the upgrades needed. With ten new maps and modes that can contain the maximum player of ten.

10 players is an improvement compared to the 8 players that the earlier version used. Hence this series will help you play with your friends and act as a team to ground the Horde.

The fact that this game has been around for so long can be attributed to the ease of finding multiplayer friends, leading it to be a high selling console video game with more than a million copies sold.

The Gears Of War 2 game, more than being innovative, has refined its action and this is the reason of its success. It is among the top games offered for Xbox 360 systems right now and makes a worthwhile addition to every game aficionado’s set.

Call of Duty 2

Call of Duty 2 was the biggest-selling release title for the Xbox 360 just what every console needs, a gritty WWII first-person shooter. Apparently the very nature of the genre, being based on real historical events, is limiting. It's not just reworking a generic dungeon-bash, it's remashing D-Day, again. Yet Call of Duty 2 is still one of the biggest games on Xbox Live. It's got to have something.

There's nothing wrong with the one-player game at all; it's just that if you've played Call of Duty (or any other game in the genre) it's going to feel familiar. It's shooting Nazis to complete missions, and everything else is window-dressing. Good window-dressing, though. You'll play through four different scenarios as a soldier in different armies, fighting for England, the U.S., and Russia. There are nice little touches with each situation: as young Private Vasili Ivanovich Koslov, you'll use potatoes as training grenades, given the cash-strapped state of the Russian army. Then you'll join in the claustrophobic house-to-house fighting of the Battle of Leningrad. After that it's on to fighting with tanks at El-Alamein with the British, then taking Pointe du Hoc during D-Day and crossing the Rhine with the Americans. All this shifting about ensures lots of variations on the khaki theme.

One little peculiarity of the game is the total lack of saving options. Autosave is it, and the autosave is no more intelligent than in any other game: sometimes, homicidally stupid, like saving seconds before an explosion.

Like many seventh generation console titles, Call of Duty 2 concentrates heavily on its online multiplayer content. Xbox Live enables up to twenty-four players playing the same scenario at once, with no discernable lag and a satisfying degree of total chaos. This includes the ability to have four players to a single Xbox, so getting your buddies together to rain metal death is a breeze. There are several different game styles, including the classic solo and team death-matches and Capture the Flag, as well as Headquarters and a bomb-defusing 'Search and Destroy' team scenario.

And if you want a change from playing a normal grunt, there are seven different 'kits' to choose from. Scout is particularly fun given Xbox Live's ability to make time-sensitive sniping, well, possible, and people are always going to need Medics.

The game's graphics are excellent, and also appropriate to the setting. There's none of that straight out of the box shininess that's so common to textures in seventh generation console games. NPCs can be a little wax-like, but the texture of the skin on your own hands and the gun models, which is what you'll see most often, is convincing. Smoke grenade effects are just gorgeous, and they do their job, too. Sound is also brilliant, and if you have a nice surround-sound system, you'll be hunkering down on your couch as bullets whizz and ping all around you. Call of Duty 2 uses a Battle Chatter System, where you can listen to your computer-generated allies and enemies talking to each other - not just a few lines of dialogue repeated ad nauseum, but actual conversations, sometimes containing useful information. Sound makes a big difference to how immersive a game feels, and Call of Duty 2 has that feel in spades.

Combat is pretty simple to learn. Right-trigger gives you a snap-shot, fast and inaccurate. Left trigger leaves you vulnerable briefly as a nice blur effect simulates aiming. You have a melee attack too, and you can throw grenades. As an advance on the original game, you can also throw grenades BACK.

If realistic WWII combat games are your thing, Xbox 360's Call of Duty 2 is a winner. It's a thorough and competent solo game, but it really comes into its own online, where it appears to cope brilliantly with the huge demands of highly-detailed multi-player melee combat.

The Orange Box

The Orange Box is a video game that is available exclusively for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. What kind of name for a video game is The Orange Box? Who came up with a name like that? Those are two questions that I cannot answer, but I do know that The Orange Box is an amazing package deal. The Orange Box comes with Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode I, Half-Life Episode II, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. Everyone knows the storyline of Half-Life 2 by now, so here is Half-Life 2 in a nutshell. The game is a direct sequel to the original Half-Life and the events transpire after the events of the original Half-Life. Humans are being held as prisoners at a location known as City 17. The plot revolves around the protagonist scientist Gordon Freeman, and he is attempting to eradicate the alien crisis. I was impressed with the storyline in Half-Life 2 because it had its fair share of poignant moments. The gameplay in Half-Life 2 is exactly what you would expect it to be. Gamers will have a usual assortment of weapons at their disposal. Some of them are machine guns, handguns, grenades, rocket launchers, and so forth. Then, there is everyone’s favorite gravity gun. This intricate weapon can be used to launch projectiles into the air. Anything and everything can be used in conjunction with the gravity gun. For instance, a piece of wood can be lifted up and tossed at foes by utilizing the gravity gun. Realistic physics is what gives Half-Life 2 a more distinctive quality than some other first person shooters. In addition, there are some driving sequences in the game with Gordon’s ally Alyx Vance. Furthermore, players will be going through the game battling against various opponents. These enemies entail zombies, aliens, and other fiendish creatures.
The graphics in the game seem a little on the low end of the spectrum, and they are not necessarily next generation visuals. On the bright side, the animations and voice acting is superb. Even the music has a fitting rhyme to it. The Half-Life games have approximately 25 hours of content.Half-Life 2 has 15 hours; Half-Life Episode I and Half-Life Episode II have five hours of gameplay each. Next up is the game called Portal. Portal is intrinsically a puzzle game with a twist. The twist being that you are equipped with a gun that creates portals. These portals serve as exits and entries. If gamers pull the trigger on the gun, then a portal opens. Another pull of the trigger will open another portal. For example, a puzzle could be something like getting from point A to point B. However, it is not as rudimentary as that. Earnest contemplation must be a factor in completing the later puzzles in the game. The initial puzzles in the game are simple, but the game gets more arduous as you progress. Luckily, the game does have some facetious moments scattered throughout as you travel from portal to portal. Unfortunately, Portal is short. It is really short. I am talking about shorter than Kevin Federline and Paris Hilton's music career short. Alright, maybe not that short. Nonetheless, the game is only one to two hours in length. The last and final piece to The Orange Box is Team Fortress 2. Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer game with numerous character styles. There are a total of nine classes altogether, and they all have pros and cons. For instance, an engineer is proficient in setting up a defense with traps. Conversely, a demolition man will be brilliant at making the rivals explode. All of the characters are well balanced, so there is no one character that can overpower the other. The Orange Box is five games for the price of one. Overall, The Orange Box is more than an adequate compilation of video games that is more than just Half-Life 2.
